The Jordan Free and Development Zones Group announced yesterday the full program for the "SUMMERIC – Ajloun Cable Car 2026" festival, which opens tomorrow,Thursday, and continues through the 22nd of this month, a 10-day run of artistic,cultural, entertainment and family programming spread across the cable car's two stations.

Tariq Al-Mayaitah, director of the Ajloun Development Zone, said the detailed program reflects the group's aim of making the Ajloun Cable Car an integrated tourism, cultural and entertainment site, with a visitor experience that extends beyond the cable car ride itself to a range of activities for families, young people and children.
Al-Mayaitah said the program is arranged so visitors have a different set of activities each day, with events split between the cable car's first and second stations. He said the lineup includes musical and artistic performances, including a concert by artist Najm Al-Salman next Saturday, along with a children's theater, entertainment shows, a book fair, children's activities and horse shows.
Al-Mayaitah said the festival is meant to support tourism in Ajloun governorate, local businesses and products, and to position Ajloun as a destination for visitors from across Jordan as well as Arab and foreign tourists. He encouraged residents and visitors to follow the daily program.
Reem Sahawneh, director general of development zones, said the festival reinforces the Ajloun Cable Car's position as a tourist site in Jordan, citing its use by visitors interested in adventure, nature and family activities, and its role in supporting tourism and local development in Ajloun governorate.
The Jordan Free and Development Zones Group is offering a 25 percent discount on Ajloun Cable Car tickets for Jordanians and foreigners for the duration of the festival, excluding Fridays and Saturdays.
Previous Festival
The third Ajloun Summer Festival and an accompanying local products exhibition concluded last Saturday, after a 10-day run in which 80 families took part, according to organizers. The festival drew a large number of visitors, including from Arab Gulf countries, along with Jordanian, Arab and foreign visitors more broadly, who organizers said expressed support for Ajloun's producing families and products.
Organizers also said foreign official delegations expressed appreciation for the cable car project and Ajloun's tourist sites, saying the project had changed the tourism landscape in the governorate.
Handicrafts Exhibition
Dar Ajloun for Heritage and Culture, together with the Ajloun Development Zone, the Ajloun Culture Directorate, the Ajloun Mountain Charitable Society, the Ajloun Revitalization Agency, and the initiatives "Jordan Through the Eyes of Ajloun Photographers" and "By Ajlouni Hands," has held 26 exhibitions of rural products and Ajlouni handicrafts, organizers said.
Munther Al-Zaghoul, the festival's coordinator, said the third Ajloun Summer Festival and the 26th edition of the rural products and handicrafts exhibition drew a large number of Jordanian, Arab and foreign visitors, who toured the festival's different sections. He said organizers are preparing additional festivals through the summer, including a twelfth Ajloun Olive Festival planned for late October.
Al-Zaghoul said the entertainment and artistic programming organized by the development zones is a draw for visitors from inside and outside Jordan, and that daily events at the cable car's two stations encourage visitors to extend their stays in Ajloun.
Jerash Festival Collaboration
The Ajloun Cable Car hosted an evening of the Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts outside the city of Jerash for the first time on July 30, the result of cooperation between the Jordan Free and Development Zones Group and Jerash Festival organizers. The group described the event as part of an effort to extend its programming to other tourist sites and to support domestic tourism.
The group said it also took part in the Jerash Festival through a dedicated Ajloun Cable Car pavilion, offering a 25 percent discount on cable car tickets to festival visitors for one week, in cooperation with festival organizers.
