Talal Abu Ghazaleh University holds robot competition

AMMAN — The Talal Abu Ghazaleh Knowledge Forum recently hosted the 2020 Robot-Sumo Competition, which was organized by the National Institute for Robotics and Technology, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra. اضافة اعلان

 Talal Abu Ghazaleh University College for Innovation (TAGUCI), the sponsor of the event, stated that more than 40 students took part in the competition.

They were divided into 4 teams to vie for the title of “Robot-Sumo Champion.” 
Talal Abu Ghazaleh stressed the importance of technology and innovation competitions, adding the Arab World has a lot of creative, yet innovative people who need a suitable environment to welcome their creativity. 

Abu Ghazaleh added that (TAGUCI) provides academic and training programs, as well as a business incubator. 

For his part, director of the National Institute for Robotics and Technology, Tareq Al-Nawaisah also stressed the importance of hosting such competitions in discovering talented children and youth, in addition to supporting them. 

He added the future is going to be digital, and will highly depend on AI. 

Each of the participants were required to design a robot with a specific algorithm to enable the robot to use the sensors The winners received medals and certificates at the end of the competition.
