In an exclusive interview with Al-Dustour, Dr. Adwan said: “We are now facing a great achievement that must be built upon, in implementation of the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Highness Prince Hussein, the Crown Prince.” He pointed out that His Highness Prince Hussein had directed at an early stage the activation of the Crown Prince Centers for Promising Individuals, to enhance creativity and focus on creative cases to enable them and push them towards further development and creative excellence.

The Ministry has begun implementing the directives, with a huge plan that supports youth and sports, as they are twins that cannot be separated, with an important vision from His Highness Prince Hussein and follow-up from Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan.

The Minister of Youth pointed out that the ministry has started partnerships with expert houses represented by sports federations. For example, (60) Taekwondo centers have been equipped to train young people in this important sport, as well as training centers for boxing. For the first time, (5) e-sports centers have been established in youth centers. This type of sport is very important, noting that these centers are not for entertainment according to a previous vision about this type of sport, but for training.

Regarding football, which Adwan described as the biggest file and the sport close to all citizens, Dr. Adwan revealed that, under the directives of His Highness Prince Hussein, the Crown Prince, (40) centers were established to train promising players in youth centers, and (20) centers in cooperation with the Greater Amman Municipality, so that today there are (60) centers for training in football for promising players, and also for refereeing.

In the same regard, the Minister of Youth revealed the signing of a partnership with the Ministry of Education to train coaches, referees and players in football, and the ministry has begun implementing a plan in this regard in youth centers, noting that all those being trained now are from the promising generation who are under the age of “twenties”, and certainly when they reach this age they will have reached an advanced stage in playing different sports, and will be qualified.

Dr. Adwan pointed out that, with the guidance and follow-up of the Prime Minister, the Ministry’s plan targets all governorates of the Kingdom, specifically the areas where there are no private clubs, and will not be limited to Amman or any other governorate. It will be a plan in which we expand previous plans and create new programs. The programs come to promote sports, arts, cultural aspects and life skills.

Dr. Adwan explained that the Ministry of Youth’s National Institutional Strategy for the years 2026-2030 focused on pursuing the paths of youth and sports in a parallel manner, and this came with the consensus of experts, stakeholders and specialists, and that the focus of sports is fundamental.
