AMMAN — Jordan has signed an
agreement to participate in
Expo 2023 Doha, an international horticultural
exhibition to be held from October 2023 through March 2024 under the theme
"Green Desert, Better Environment", the Jordan News Agency, Petra,
reported.

In a statement released by the Ministry of
Industry, Trade, and Supply on Wednesday, the ministry’s Secretary-General Dana
Al-Zoubi said that Jordan's participation in the high-profile exhibition is
part of efforts to
strengthen Jordanian-Qatari relations.
Jordan is supportive of novel approaches to
problems that have garnered international attention, such as the fight against
desertification through
technologically advanced agriculture and a heightened
sensitivity to environmental concerns, she noted.
It is hoped that Expo 2023 Doha, the first
international horticultural exhibition to be held in
Qatar and the MENA region
more broadly, will provide a platform from which to strengthen international
efforts to combat desertification, introduce more environmentally friendly
production methods, and increase worldwide food security.
