The value of Jordan's imports of crude oil and petroleum products increased by 41.9% during the first five months of 2026 compared with the same period last year, according to data released by the Department of Statistics (DoS).

The figures were published in the DoS's monthly Foreign Trade Report, which also showed that imports of plastics and plastic products rose by 8.5% during the same period.
Meanwhile, the value of several other import categories declined. Imports of jewelry and precious ornaments fell by 40.2%, while machinery and mechanical appliances dropped by 25.7%.
Imports of vehicles and motorcycles decreased by 9.4%, and imports of electrical machinery and equipment declined by 7%.
