Britain and Japan are preparing to conclude investment and technology partnerships worth more than £18 billion ($24 billion), with expectations that the deals will create tens of thousands of jobs, during a meeting between British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi on Sunday.

The agreements include Japanese investment plans worth more than £9 billion over five years in infrastructure and financial services, as well as plans to provide up to another £9 billion for offshore wind energy projects in Britain.
The two countries will also launch a new technology partnership covering sectors such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and quantum computing.
Additional trade and government agreements are expected to be finalized during Takaichi’s visit, which comes ahead of the G7 Summit scheduled to take place in France from June 15 to 17.
