The spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Supply, Yanal Al-Barmawi, stated that last year the ministry dealt with 16 cases related to Jordanian exports, including precautionary measures and anti-dumping cases, as part of efforts to protect national products from harmful and unfair trade practices in foreign markets.اضافة اعلان

Al-Barmawi added that the ministry is keen on protecting local industry and enhancing its competitiveness by addressing various technical and procedural cases that directly impact the industrial sector. This included imposing precautionary measures on safety products to protect national goods, as well as initiating an anti-dumping investigation regarding the Kingdom’s imports of solar panels.

He noted that the ministry completed 24 specialized studies of complaints submitted by the industrial sector, assessing the potential impact of imports on local industry and taking appropriate measures according to national legislation and relevant international agreements. Additionally, 267 applications for import licenses were reviewed within the framework of import regulation, balancing protection of domestic production with meeting local market needs.

Al-Barmawi highlighted that the Directorate of National Production Protection conducted an extensive awareness campaign targeting the industrial sector, sending approximately 40,000 text messages to raise awareness of legislation and procedures related to protecting national production, precautionary measures, and anti-dumping.

He emphasized that these efforts align with the ministry’s vision to promote a fair and competitive industrial environment, support national exports, and protect industrial investments in the Kingdom.

The Directorate of National Production Protection implements these agreements through Jordanian laws and regulations, providing protection and support to local industries and producers affected by harmful or unfair trade practices, including surges in imports of certain products or their importation at dumping or subsidized prices.
