The selling price of 21-karat gold—the most sought after by consumers in the local market—reached 90.20 Jordanian dinars per gram on Wednesday, while the buying price stood at 86.60 dinars. This reflects an increase of 40 piasters per gram compared with Tuesday’s prices.اضافة اعلان

The selling prices of one gram of 24-, 18-, and 14-karat gold for purchases from jewelry shops stood at 102.80, 79.80, and 61.30 dinars, respectively.

Globally, gold surpassed the $4,500-per-ounce level on Wednesday for the first time ever, driven by increased safe-haven demand and expectations of continued U.S. interest rate cuts next year. Silver and platinum also rose to record highs.

Spot gold climbed about 0.4% to $4,503.59 per ounce by 00:00 GMT, after touching a record high of $4,509.65 earlier. U.S. gold futures for February delivery rose 0.7% to a record $4,540.60 per ounce.

Spot silver gained 0.5% to $71.80 per ounce, after reaching an all-time high of $71.85 earlier in the session.
