The course, opened by Tafileh Agriculture Director Bilal Halhoul, is part of the project "Building Resilience to Cope with Climate Change in Jordan through Improving Water Use Efficiency in the Agriculture Sector."

FAO representative Samia Akroush and Advance Consulting representative Mohammad Kharabsheh stressed the importance of enhancing farmers’ capacity in smart natural resource management amid accelerating climate change.

The training aims to raise farmers’ awareness and enable them to adopt climate-smart agricultural practices by improving irrigation management, reducing water loss, and increasing efficiency, thus boosting productivity and ensuring sustainable farming in drought- and climate-affected areas.

Led by Hood Hawamleh, head of the Extension Department, the program included interactive sessions and practical applications on modern irrigation techniques and best agricultural practices suited to local climate conditions.

The project seeks to strengthen food security and promote sustainable agricultural development in areas most affected by climate change in the Kingdom.
