The project, titled “Unlocking Markets with Bank al Etihad”, is a two-month export readiness program that will facilitate the expansion of a “select number of companies” to new international markets and help them build strategic partnerships, the statement said.

The program is accepting applications until April 30. The statement listed the following criteria: The company should be a small or medium-sized business with at least $100,000 in annual turnover, have at least one female founder with decision-making power; or that a woman has 50 percent ownership and has decision-making power; or that a woman has at least 20 percent ownership while being the main signatory authority. The company’s product must have “a high potential for growth and success in foreign markets, be ready for export, and have proven its feasibility locally or already exported to at least one foreign market.”

Companies selected to benefit from this program will receive support through, workshops, meetings with market and legal experts, help assessing partnership opportunities, and one-on-one meetings with potential clients and leaders, the statement said.

“Bank al Etihad aims to empower women led businesses and provide them with opportunities that enable them to unleash their full potential, for their positive effect on their societies, and Jordan’ s economy as a whole,” the statement concluded.
