Trump confirmed that the operation to search for and identify the body of Israeli police officer Ran Gvili was “extremely difficult.”
He explained that Hamas exerted significant efforts alongside the occupying authorities to locate the body, noting that the movement effectively assisted in identifying the location of the body of another detainee who had been inside the Strip.
In a move reflecting the contours of the next phase following the conclusion of the detainees file, Trump stated: “Now we must disarm Hamas, as the movement was promised.”
These statements place the issue of Palestinian weapons at the top of the U.S. administration’s priorities as part of discussions on arrangements for the “post-war” phase in the Gaza Strip
