U.S. President Donald Trump arrived in Ankara on Tuesday to participate in the NATO Summit, Trump is expected to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa on Wednesday on the sidelines of the summit in the Turkish capital.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan welcomed Trump upon his arrival aboard Air Force One, where an official reception ceremony was held on a blue carpet before the U.S. president reviewed the honor guard.
Trump is scheduled to hold talks with Erdoğan at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday afternoon.
Erdoğan is reportedly hoping to announce a deal for the delivery of U.S.-made F-35 fighter jets.
Washington removed Turkey from the F-35 program in 2019 after Ankara acquired the Russian S-400 missile defense system in 2017.
However, Erdoğan is relying on his strong relationship with Trump, as well as Turkey’s renewed standing with Washington due to its support for Ukraine, in hopes of securing the delivery of six F-35 aircraft that Turkey had previously paid for.
