According to the European news network "Euronews," IFJ General Secretary Anthony Bellanger stated in a press release on Sunday that journalists are civilians protected by international humanitarian law. He emphasized that their deliberate targeting constitutes a grave violation of this law, calling for an independent international investigation to identify those responsible, hold them accountable, and end impunity for crimes committed against media professionals.
According to field data, several Lebanese regions have witnessed a broad military escalation in recent hours, amid ongoing airstrikes and artillery shelling on a number of southern towns. (Petra)
