ZARQA — The head of the
Zarqa Municipal Committee,
Hassan Jabour, referred two municipality employees to the public prosecutor for
stealing diesel from compressors, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

In statement Tuesday, Jabour said that the employees stole the
diesel at night from broken down compressors at the Department of Works and
Mechanics. The two employees were caught on surveillance cameras.
Jabour added that the services of two other municipal employees
were terminated for being absent from their workplace for successive periods,
based on Article 170 of the civil service code.
He said that another employee was also suspended from work, after
he was arrested for drug abuse and carrying a firearm, stressing that there
will be no delay in taking legal measures against anyone who seeks to damage
municipal property or moneys.
