Real estate transactions double in August, according to DLS

AMMAN — Acting Director General of the Department of Lands and Survey (DLS) Mohammad Al-Sawafin said on Monday that the real estate transactions nearly doubled this August, compared to August 2021, according to Al-Mamlaka TV.اضافة اعلان

Sawafin said in a statement that real estate transactions effected in August this year were worth JD33,390,000, while they amounted to JD19,918,000 in August 2021.

In its session on Monday headed by Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh, the Cabinet agreed to exempt inheritance transactions from a percentage of the registration fees.

According to the decision, inheritance transfer transactions will be exempted from the percentage prescribed in the table of land registration fees by 0.5 percent, to become 0.001 percent, and inheritance transactions will be exempted from the percentage prescribed in the table of 1 percent to become 0.5 percent.

This decision will remain in force until the issuance of a law amending the Land Registration Fees Law No. 26 for the year 1958 and the table attached to the law.

The decision continues the measures taken to stimulate the real estate market, revitalize the real estate sector, and enable heirs to invest their properties.
