A public opinion poll conducted by the Center for Strategic Studies at the University of Jordan, marking two years since the formation of Prime Minister Jafar Hassan’s government, found that 44% of respondents in the national sample believe their economic situation is worse today than it was 12 months ago, compared with 51% in an April 2026 poll.اضافة اعلان

Meanwhile, 43% said their economic situation had remained unchanged, while 12% said it had improved.

Regarding the decision to raise the minimum wage by JD30, 40% of opinion leaders and 31% of respondents in the national sample said the measure had not helped address the rising cost of living.

As for the decision to keep fuel prices unchanged, 46% of opinion leaders and 39% of the national sample said it had not contributed at all to easing the cost-of-living burden.

In contrast, 55% of respondents in the national sample and 54% of opinion leaders rated the government’s role in maintaining the stability of prices for basic commodities, such as bread, during crises as good or very good.

Regarding the decision to reduce taxes on cars, respondents were nearly evenly divided over whether the measure benefited ordinary citizens. Some 43% considered it beneficial, while 44% said it was not beneficial.

The findings also showed that 72% of respondents had not considered buying a car or replacing their existing vehicle following the decision.
