Government Communications Minister and government spokesperson Mohammad Al-Momani said on Friday that independent, professional and credible media is an important source of state strength, stressing the importance of adhering to truth, defending just causes and upholding the rights of peoples.
Speaking during the Arab Media Dialogue Forum, held as part of the “Future of Media and Communication” gathering, Al-Momani said truth is the media’s most valuable asset, noting that professional journalism plays an important role in correcting course and contributing to policymaking.
He added that independent and professional media is better positioned to safeguard the interests of the state, emphasizing its role in addressing various issues with professionalism and responsibility.
Al-Momani stressed the need for the media to defend just causes and the rights of peoples, considering this an integral part of its role in reporting facts and giving voice to humanitarian issues.
