Several parliamentary committees are scheduled to meet on Monday to discuss a range of draft laws and issues related to local administration, agriculture and water, health, and energy and mineral resources.

The Parliamentary Agriculture and Water Committee will examine the repercussions of wheat and barley crop fires and their impact on Jordan’s strategic reserves and the sustainability of food security. The committee will also discuss the importation of powdered milk and other matters related to the agricultural sector.

In addition, the committee will review the country’s water situation for 2026 and address other issues concerning the water sector.

Meanwhile, the Administrative Committee will hear the views and proposals of the boards of directors of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce and the Jordan Chamber of Industry regarding the draft Local Administration Law of 2026, which was referred by the government.

The Health and Food Committee will discuss the renewal of professional licenses and membership subscriptions for the Jordan Pharmacists Association and the Jordan Dental Association.

The Energy and Mineral Resources Committee, for its part, will review regulations governing the connection of renewable energy facilities to the national electricity grid, the cancellation of renewable energy systems, and measures aimed at improving energy efficiency and rationalizing energy consumption.
