The Ministry of Water and Irrigation/Water Authority said its inspection teams from the Internal Control Unit and Jordan Water Company–Miyahuna, as part of an ongoing campaign to tighten control over water resources, carried out inspection campaigns accompanied by security formations from the Public Security Directorate. The campaigns resulted in the detection of new violations involving water sources and networks in several areas across the Kingdom.

According to a ministry statement, two illegal 2-inch-diameter lines were removed in Al-Muwaqqar. The lines were being used to illegally fill water tankers. Four illegal wells in the Al-Rama and Sweimeh areas were also sealed after being used to sell water to chalets and farms. In addition, an illegal drilling rig component was seized in Hawwara, Irbid.
The campaign also uncovered an illegal connection to the “Manja” transmission line, involving a 3-inch line supplying large agricultural ponds, farms and a nursery. In Sahab, authorities detected a 1-inch line supplying a car-wash station and a residential and commercial complex. Three additional illegal lines were found in Naour supplying homes and collection wells.
Technical teams began removing all detected violations, disconnecting the illegal lines and preparing reports for each case to complete the legal procedures against the violators and refer them to the judicial authorities.
The Ministry of Water and Irrigation/Water Authority commended the significant efforts of the Public Security Directorate and its formations, as well as citizens’ support for the campaign, describing it as a key factor in its success. It stressed that intensive efforts would continue through enforcement of the law to prevent violations and protect water resources across all areas of the Kingdom.
