Minister of Government Communication and official spokesperson for the government, Mohammad Al-Moumani, affirmed on Saturday that Jordan’s stance is a “line of fire” in confronting displacement.

In a post on the “X” platform, he stated that international law prohibits the forcible transfer of populations from occupied territories, stressing that forced displacement is a war crime and a crime against humanity.
He added that neither the Palestinian people nor any country in the region, foremost Jordan, will accept forced displacement.
Moumani emphasized that the right of return is a fundamental and inalienable human and legal right, noting that displacement is a blatant assault on the Palestinian people, their land, and their state, as well as an attack on the sovereignty of nations and an act of war.
He pointed out that the very notion of displacement reflects a racist mindset that history has surpassed and that stands outside the bounds of humanity.
He continued: “Anyone who believes they can impose sovereignty over Jerusalem at the expense of Arab Palestinians has not read a single line of history spanning hundreds of years. The Holy City has lived in peace and security since the Covenant of Umar, and today carries the Hashemite Custodianship under King Abdullah II, the 41st-generation grandson of the Prophet.”
Moumani added: “The Palestinian state is a right, and history has taught us that peoples do not forget their land. The Palestinians will achieve their state.”
He stressed that the occupation is using starvation as a tool for displacement—an approach he described as spiteful, revealing the moral and political bankruptcy of the Israeli far right.
Moumani affirmed that the Palestinian state will be established and the Palestinian people will attain their inalienable right to self-determination, despite the will of the Israeli far right.
He also noted that countries that have declared their intention to recognize the Palestinian state stand on the side of justice and on the right side of history. He added that the rhetoric of Israel’s racist right only fuels hatred and fosters an environment of violence and extremism.
Moumani concluded by stressing that Jordan reminds the world that Palestinians are a people with rights, not mere numbers on occupation maps, and that attempts at ethnic cleansing will end in defeat and remain a stain of shame on those who commit them. Jordan, he said, stands united within the Arab front in rejecting displacement.
