The call addressed the plan approved by the Israeli Security Cabinet to entrench the occupation of the Gaza Strip and expand military control over it. His Majesty underscored Jordan’s categorical rejection and condemnation of this step, which undermines the two-state solution, violates the rights of the Palestinian people, and threatens international efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement and end the humanitarian suffering in Gaza.
His Majesty reaffirmed Jordan’s solidarity with the Palestinian people and the Kingdom’s unwavering position in supporting them in gaining their just and legitimate rights and establishing their independent state in accordance with the two-state solution.
The call also covered the dangerous escalation against Palestinians in the West Bank and the repeated violations against Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
For his part, the Palestinian president expressed appreciation for Jordan’s efforts, under the leadership of His Majesty, in supporting the Palestinian people politically, diplomatically, and through humanitarian relief.
