In a statement on Tuesday, the ministry said that the document is a DoI between the three countries that entails conducting feasibility studies for two projects; a renewable energy project in Jordan, implemented by an Emirati company, and a water desalination project for the Mediterranean Sea that would secure the Kingdom 200 million cubic meters of water annually.

Under clause (V), “This DoI is solely the expression of the Parties’ intention and does not create or affect any legal rights or obligations under international laws.”

The statement indicated that the three parties intend to explore the feasibility of both projects by the end of the third quarter of 2022.
Under the first clause of the DoI, the two projects are interdependent and contingent to one another.
