A local radio station had broadcast a public concern pointing out missing and damaged portions of the metal guardrail along a steep slope that posed a direct hazard to drivers. A commitment was made live on air to address the issue immediately, prompting field teams to mobilize and complete the necessary repairs on the same day.
The ministry explained that damage to or loss of these barriers and pipes often results from repeated vandalism and theft by unidentified individuals. It emphasized that such unacceptable behavior poses a direct threat to road users' lives and leads to the waste of public funds.
The ministry called on citizens and drivers to exercise maximum cooperation and responsibility in preserving public property. It stressed the importance of promptly reporting any field observations, complaints, or acts of vandalism targeting traffic safety infrastructure to the relevant authorities to mitigate risks and ensure long-term road safety.
