Jordan records 6,296 new COVID-19 cases, positivity rate stands at 17.97%

AMMAN — Jordan recorded 6,296 new COVID-19 cases and 16 new deaths on Sunday, bringing the total death toll to 13,814 and the total number of cases to 1,623,474.اضافة اعلان

The Ministry of Health said that Amman recorded 2,659 cases, while Zarqa recorded 305 cases. Irbid registered 607 cases, Balqa 680 cases, Karak recorded 416 cases, Jerash recorded 252 cases, and Tafileh recorded 224 cases. Madaba registered 217 cases, Aqaba 157, Ramtha 68, and Ajloun 223.

The ministry said in a statement that 115 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, while 109 new patients were admitted.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 90,906 according to the ministry. Out of 35,040 COVID-19 tests conducted Sunday, 17.97 percent of them came back positive.
