On Wednesday, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, received Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, in Baku.

Safadi conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah II to his brother, His Excellency President Aliyev, along with His Majesty's wishes for further progress and prosperity for the Republic of Azerbaijan and its people.
President Aliyev asked Safadi to convey his greetings to His Majesty King Abdullah II, emphasizing Azerbaijan's keenness to continue strengthening bilateral relations with Jordan.
Safadi extended an invitation from His Majesty King Abdullah II to President Aliyev to visit the Kingdom, and His Excellency also sent an invitation to His Majesty to visit Azerbaijan.
President Aliyev stressed the depth of the brotherly relations between Azerbaijan and Jordan, highlighting his country's interest in enhancing cooperation in all fields.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to expand cooperation by maintaining and intensifying meetings between relevant officials, aiming to create greater opportunities in the fields of economy, energy, investment, and tourism.
They also emphasized the importance of building upon the outcomes of the Joint Jordanian-Azerbaijani Committee for Economic, Trade, and Technical Cooperation, which was held in Baku on November 26, 2025. This includes strengthening parliamentary cooperation and tourism sector collaboration, as well as discussing the possibility of operating direct and regular flights between the two countries.
Additionally, the meeting addressed several regional and international issues of mutual interest.
