Jordan Customs in Aqaba Confirms Readiness for the Holy Month of Ramadan

The Director General of Jordan Customs Department, Major General of Customs Ahmad Al-Akalik, conducted a field visit to Aqaba, where he met with representatives of the economic and commercial sectors as well as customs clearance companies. Al-Akalik affirmed that customs authorities are working to streamline procedures in line with the requirements of the holy month of Ramadan, particularly with regard to facilitating the entry of essential goods and ensuring their timely flow. The visit is part of broader government preparations aimed at ensuring the readiness of customs services at border crossings and customs clearance centers ahead of Ramadan, a season that typically witnesses a noticeable increase in the movement of goods, essential commodities, and travelers.

Discussions during the visit also focused on mechanisms to further develop customs procedures in Aqaba and enhance the business and investment environment in cooperation with relevant entities.
