The two Jordanians, Musab and Khalifa, 38 and 29 respectively, were arrested by Israeli forces on Sunday after sneaking across the border.

Khalid Al-Mahajneh, the detainees’ lawyer, said that the judge’s decision fell below the demands of Israeli forces, which requested a 15-day extension.

Mahajneh added that Thursday’s session consisted of two parts, one of which was held privately with the detainees themselves and without their lawyer present, due to an order banning the detainees from meeting with their lawyer, effective until 11pm today.

The second part of the session was a public one, but without the defendants in attendance.

The lawyer added that following that court session in Haifa, another one took place in Nazareth to contest the ban on lawyer conferences with the detainees, during which the judge upheld the ban so long as no new developments in the case emerge, allowing the Israeli intelligence the option to extend the ban for ten more days should developments arise, as per Israeli law, according to Mahajneh.
