The Ministry of Water and Irrigation / Water Authority, in cooperation with Aqaba Water Company and the Public Security Directorate, carried out a security operation along the Desert Highway in the Al-Hasa area to remove repeated illegal connections to main drinking water pipelines supplying residents. The stolen water had been used to operate sprinklers for washing cars and trucks traveling on the Amman–Aqaba highway.
The campaign resulted in the seizure of three water tanks, seven pumps, 16 sprinklers, and an illegal pipeline extending along the roadside. All unauthorized installations were completely removed.
The Ministry of Water and Irrigation said the operation is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen control over water resources across the Kingdom. It added that technical teams immediately began removing the violations, which involved illegally connected pipelines of various diameters, disconnecting the unauthorized lines, and preparing official reports to initiate the necessary legal procedures against those responsible.
