House to meet on fate of MP Ajarmeh today

AMMAN — The Lower House is holding an urgent session today at 3pm to decide on the fate of MP Osama Ajarmeh, following a video that surfaced on Saturday showing the MP making remarks that were considered to be "insulting," according to a spokesperson from the Lower House.اضافة اعلان

Local Media has reported that Ajarmeh is expected to be expelled rather than resign.

An MP who preferred to remain anonymous told Jordan News that a memo was drafted yesterday by a number MPs and signed calling for the expulsion of Osama Ajarmeh which is why the House called for an urgent session today.

Communications focal point Taher Weirkat confirmed that it will be open to media.
