Hot spell set to taper off, showers forecast in southern, eastern areas-JMD

AMMAN — Effect of the hot spell is quite receding Saturday in the Kingdom's western regions, and mercury will drop slightly, with hot weather in the highlands and plains, and scorching conditions in other areas, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.اضافة اعلان

In the afternoon, scattered showers are expected in the Kingdom's southern and eastern areas with northwesterly moderate winds, the JMD forecast.

In its report, the JMD warns of the danger of direct exposure to the sun at noon, the possibility of low horizontal visibility in the Badia regions due to dust, and the risk of slippery roads in areas that could see downpour.

Another slight drop in temperatures is forecast on Sunday with northwesterly moderate winds, added the JMD.

Also on Saturday, temps in the capital Amman will rise to 37 degrees Celsius and drop to 24C at night, meanwhile the port city of Aqaba will see a searing 42C , dipping to 29C during night hours.
