Amman, Jordan news agency, Petra — Brunt of the heatwave is increasing Saturday, and mercury is set to rise to record levels about 3-5 Celsius degrees higher than their seasonal average, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.اضافة اعلان

Thus, weather will be hot in most areas countrywide and blistering in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, with northwesterly moderate winds, the JMD added.

In its report, the JMD warns of the danger of direct exposure to sunlight at noon.

On Sunday, effect of the heatwave will recede, and the temperatures will go down slightly, which brings relatively hot conditions to the highlands and plains, the JMD noted.

Regarding Monday, the Kingdom will see another slight drop in temperatures, which would bring mercury to seasonal average, it said.

Also today, mercury in the capital Amman will reach a high of 34 Celsius degrees, dipping into 22C at night, meanwhile the port city of Aqaba will see a scorching 41C, dropping to 29C during night hours.
