The Greater Amman Municipality has announced a state of maximum emergency starting Wednesday morning to deal with the weather depression affecting the Kingdom.

The municipality’s media spokesperson, Dr. Nasser Al-Rahamneh, confirmed that field teams are fully prepared to respond to any reports received by the Tlaa Al-Ali emergency operations room. He urged citizens to contact the unified call center numbers (102 and 117180) in case of any observations.
Al-Rahamneh also called on citizens to exercise caution by staying away from valleys and low-lying areas, and to avoid random disposal of waste, as it can block rainwater drainage systems.
He stressed the importance of checking submersible pumps in basements and commercial premises located below street level, and urged business owners to take preventive measures when storing goods in warehouses and lower floors.
He further called on contractors and construction project owners to secure building materials to prevent them from being washed away and causing blockages in rainwater drainage networks.
