Girls’ rescue camp a success in Petra

AMMAN — The Petra Youth Directorate on Thursday concluded the activities of the Rescue Swords camp for girls aged 15–17, which was held in cooperation with the civil defense cadres in Petra, the Jordan News Agency (Petra) reported.اضافة اعلان

The director of the Petra Youth Directorate, Khaldoun Al-Soub said that the camp was set up with the aim of empowering girls with first aid and rescue skills, assuming responsibility and crisis management, and practical applications on public safety conditions.

He added that these trainings contribute to building girls’ abilities to engage in voluntary works that serve the community.

The camp also included awareness and guidance activities, exercises on rescue and ambulance operations during natural disasters, firefighting skills, crisis management, and practice evacuation operations during earthquakes.

The girls additionally carried out volunteer work and a cleaning and maintenance campaign for some public facilities in Petra.
