The preliminary inspection results showed that all heaters involved in suffocation and fatal incidents were used units and suffered from defects in the combustion process, leading to increased levels of carbon monoxide in the air, in addition to malfunctions in oxygen sensors. The findings also indicated that most of these heaters were not fitted with gas-specific hoses or designated pressure regulators.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan held a follow-up meeting to review the preliminary findings of the Royal Scientific Society’s inspection report concerning gas heaters linked to deaths and suffocation cases.

The meeting was attended by a number of ministers, the Director of Public Security, and representatives of the Royal Scientific Society and relevant authorities.
