Senate President Faisal Al-Fayez said the security and stability of Oman and the Gulf states form part of Jordan's own national security, and rejected any interference in their affairs.

Fayez was speaking on Wednesday to Khalid bin Hilal Al Maawali, chairman of Oman's Shura Council, and the delegation accompanying him on an official visit to the Kingdom.
Turning to the Iranian attacks on Jordan and the Gulf states, Fayez restated Jordan's condemnation and pointed to King Abdullah II's diplomatic efforts to secure clear security guarantees in any future settlement.
Regional conditions have left Jordan facing both economic and security pressures, Fayez said, and he argued that they require a unified Arab position. He called for an integrated Arab framework across politics, economics and defence, describing economic integration as a necessity rather than an aspiration and urging a stronger joint Arab security and defence structure.
Fayez credited Oman with supporting Jordan and backing the King's efforts on the Palestinian question, a two-state settlement, opposition to forced displacement, and the Hashemite custodianship of the holy sites in Jerusalem. He also called for closer parliamentary cooperation through exchanges between committees.
Al Maawali described relations between the two countries as historical and expanding, and noted the part Jordanians played in building Oman's education system and its modern state. Political relations rest on agreement across many Arab files, he said.
Economic and investment cooperation should be strengthened by making fuller use of the agreements already signed between the two countries, Al Maawali added. He praised Jordan's positions on Arab issues, particularly Palestine, and cited the King's rejection of forced displacement. Arab parliaments should keep coordinating with one another in support of regional stability, he said.
Members of the Omani delegation attending included Ahmed Al-Siyabi, Abdulaziz Al-Balushi, Ali Al-Harasi and Mohammed Al-Mahrouqi. On the Jordanian side, the meeting was attended by Hussein Al-Hawatmeh, who chairs the Senate's Jordanian-Omani friendship committee, and MP Yousef Al-Rawadieh, his counterpart in the House of Representatives.
