Cabinet approves draft law amending NCHR law

AMMAN — A Thursday Cabinet session, chaired by Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh, approved draft amendments to the National Centre for Human Rights (NCHR) Law for 2022, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.اضافة اعلان

The draft comes to enhance the principle of impartiality and objectivity, avoid conflicts of interest and the impact of the party and intellectual affiliation on the work of the Chairperson and Commissioner General of the NCHR.

The amendments stipulate that whoever is appointed as Chairman of Commissioner General of the NCHR should not be affiliated with any political party.
