The Eastern Military Zone, in a qualitative operation carried out at dawn on Wednesday, foiled six simultaneous attempts to smuggle large quantities of narcotics across its border front. The illicit substances were carried by electronically guided balloons launched at the same time in an effort to distract Border Guard units and evade surveillance.

In coordination with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, Border Guard units successfully thwarted all attempts at various locations. The balloons and their cargo were engaged and intercepted within Jordanian territory, and the seized items were referred to the competent authorities for further action.
The Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) reaffirmed their commitment to utilizing all capabilities and resources to prevent smuggling and infiltration operations, vowing to strike with an iron fist against anyone attempting to undermine national security or the safety of its citizens.
