The Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) successfully thwarted two separate smuggling and infiltration attempts on the Kingdom’s western and northern borders on Wednesday evening. These operations are part of the military’s ongoing efforts to protect national borders and maintain security and stability.

Western Front: Drone Smuggling Intercepted
The Southern Military Zone, in coordination with military security agencies and the Narcotics Control Department, intercepted an attempt to smuggle a quantity of narcotics via a drone. Border Guard forces detected the drone and applied the rules of engagement, leading to it being shot down within Jordanian territory. The confiscated items have been handed over to the competent authorities.
Northern Front: Infiltration Attempt
Meanwhile, the Northern Military Zone foiled an illegal infiltration attempt by an individual attempting to cross from Syrian territory into Jordan. Border Guard forces monitored the suspect and applied the rules of engagement, resulting in his arrest. He has since been referred to the relevant authorities for further action.
