One of the service providers contracted to Ruya Processing and Recycling Company began operating new waste-collection and transport vehicles in central Amman on Saturday morning, after all vehicles previously leased from the Greater Amman Municipality were returned to municipality teams the same day. The move forms part of a phased transition plan to transfer waste-collection and transport operations from the municipality to three private cleaning-service providers.

According to reliable sources, five vehicles have begun operating, with the number set to rise to 11 the following week. Most of the fleet is expected to begin work on November 1, when a press conference on the matter will be held.
Al Ghad has learned that the new vehicles are 2026 models manufactured by the German company MAN. They are equipped with tracking, monitoring, and camera systems linked to a control room operated by the service provider, Ruya Company, and the Greater Amman Municipality.
The vehicles also feature a container-weighing system connected to a communications network, allowing them to be used in future studies of waste-collection routes and methods.
