The Public Security Directorate on Wednesday provided details of a brawl and assault involving a person in the Al-Qweismeh area east of Amman, which appeared in a video recently circulated online.

The Directorate confirmed that the incident occurred around two weeks ago and that authorities dealt with it at the time, arresting a number of those involved.
The spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate said the circulated video shows a group of people assaulting an individual using sharp objects, while one of them runs him over with a vehicle.
The spokesperson explained that the video shows part of a brawl between the parties that followed previous disputes.
The spokesperson added that security authorities took the necessary measures at the time and transported the injured person to hospital, where he remains under treatment. His general condition is moderate, the spokesperson said, stressing that reports claiming that the victim’s leg had been amputated are false.
The Public Security Directorate spokesperson said the injured person told investigators that an argument had taken place between him and the individuals seen in the video, after which they assaulted him.
He added that three people involved in the brawl and assault were arrested at the time and referred to the judiciary.
They were detained at a rehabilitation and correction center before being referred to the administrative governor, who decided to release two of them on judicial bail while ordering their detention at a rehabilitation and correction center.
The spokesperson further said that security authorities had issued notices for three other individuals who participated in the brawl and remain at large, in order to take the necessary legal action against them.
