Personnel from the Northern Region Branch of the Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization (JSMO) seized and confiscated 1,212 containers of violating motor oils during inspection tours conducted in the markets. These actions are part of ongoing efforts to ensure that traded products comply with approved technical regulations.

The Organization explained that the seized items included 336 containers of motor oils bearing a trademark similar to a well-known, famous brand, in addition to 876 containers of technically non-compliant motor oils. It noted that this specific economic establishment has repeatedly committed such violations.
The Organization confirmed that it is finalizing legal procedures against the establishment and the seized products, in accordance with the Standards and Metrology Law No. (22) of 2000 and its amendments, as well as the provisions of effective legislation, to guarantee consumer protection and strengthen oversight over products traded in the markets.
It urged consumers to purchase products from licensed and well-known shops, ensure the mandatory explanatory label is present on the container, and keep the purchase invoice to safeguard their rights and enable product source tracking if necessary.
It also emphasized the importance of citizen cooperation in reporting any suspected non-compliant products or violating practices through the complaints phone and WhatsApp number (065301243), the Organization’s social media pages, the "At Your Service" (Bekhidmatkom) platform, and the "Sanad" application, contributing to market oversight and consumer protection.
