Spanish newspaper Marca has criticized José Mourinho’s tactical choices in Real Madrid’s midfield, questioning why Arda Güler has been left on the bench while Barcelona have several players capable of creating chances, including Pedri, Fermín López and Dani Olmo.

The newspaper argued that relying on Federico Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni limits Real Madrid’s ability to pass the ball and build attacks, particularly with a defensive lineup featuring Denzel Dumfries, Ibrahima Konaté, Antonio Rüdiger and Marc Cucurella.
It also noted that Roma appeared more eager to attack, while Real Madrid resorted to long, aimless balls from goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, despite having Güler and Bernardo Silva on the bench.
Marca said the team’s performance improved when more creative players came on, stressing that Güler should be given a starting opportunity after making a clear contribution to creating the goals that fueled the comeback against Roma.
