AMMAN — Al-Faisaly has climbed to the top of the Jordanian Pro League with a score of four points, powering past Al-Salt and Shabab Al-Ordon with a goal difference, and marking the end of the tournament’s second round.اضافة اعلان

During their run in the second round, Al-Faisaly managed to defeat Al-Baqaa (3-0), while Al-Salt beat Al-Jazeera (3-2), Shabab Al-Ordon beat Al-Hussein (Irbid) (1-0), Shabab Al-Aqaba and Al-Jaleel tied (0-0) as did Sahab and Maan (1-1).

Al-Faisaly scored five goals in the span of two games, whereas Al-Jaleel, Shabab Al-Aqaba, Al-Ramtha and Al-Baqaa did not score in either rounds of the Pro League.

Sahab’s forward, Yazan Al-Nueimat, and Al-Faisaly’s Mardik Mardikian have so far been this season’s top scorers with three and two goals scored by each player respectively.

Commenting on the overall level of the Pro League, national coach, Othman Al-Hassanat told Jordan News: “It can be said that Al-Salt’s match against Al-Jazeera was the most beautiful and most competitive. It also seems that Shabab Al-Ordon is in the midst of revitalizing its vigor despite the absence of big names as it was not an easy prey for its competitors and may give a surprising performance this season.”

He continued: “We can now be more optimistic about an improvement to this edition of the Pro League, as the scoring index has risen; with 11 goals scored during the second round’s five games. This indicates that teams have started to  get into the competition.”

Today (Thursday) will mark the start of the Pro League’s third round, which will feature Al-Ramtha v. Al-Jaleel, while Shabab Al-Aqaba and Al-Salt will face off on Friday ahead of matches between Maan and Al-Baqaa, and Shabab Al-Ordon and Sahab on Saturday and Sunday respectively. The round will conclude on Monday with a showdown between Al-Jazeera and Al-Hussein  (Irbid).
