FIFA wrote: "Massive fan support inside the stadiums at the 2026 World Cup. The number of fans in this edition has surpassed the combined total attendance of the previous two editions."

The 2026 World Cup is the first expanded edition to feature 48 teams, with a total of 104 matches being played.

Four matches remain in the tournament. Spain will face France on Tuesday evening, and England will play against defending champions Argentina on Wednesday evening in the semifinal matches.

Meanwhile, the bronze medal match will take place next Sunday evening, followed by the final match a day later.

It is worth noting that the 2022 World Cup was held in Qatar, which became the first country to host the tournament in the Arab region and the Middle East, while the 2018 World Cup took place in Russia.
