Portugal lost to Spain 1-0 in the round of 16 of the World Cup, marking Cristiano Ronaldo's sixth appearance in the tournament.
Speaking after the loss to Spain, Ronaldo said: "I will wake up tomorrow with a clear conscience. I played 23 years for the national team and won three titles. Before Cristiano, Portugal had not won any championship. For me, Euro 2016 is just as important as winning the World Cup."
He added regarding international retirement: "I do not make decisions in the heat of the moment, I will wait."
