Aston Villa have signed 18-year-old Senegal winger Ibrahim Mbaye from Paris St-Germain for €55m (£47m). Mbaye contributed three goals and two assists in 31 appearances last season as PSG retained their Ligue 1 and Champions League titles, and he featured in all four of Senegal's 2026 World Cup matches, becoming the youngest African player to score at a men's World Cup with his goal in a 3-1 loss to France.

Born in France, Mbaye came through PSG's academy after joining from FC Versailles 78 in 2018 and made his senior debut in 2024. He represented France at youth level before switching allegiance to Senegal in 2025 through his father.
He becomes the latest attacking addition for Unai Emery's side, following Alejandro Garnacho, Johan Manzambi, and Nicolas Jackson, as Villa continue heavy summer spending after losing key players from their Europa League-winning squad — Morgan Rogers to Chelsea (£117m), Ezri Konsa to Arsenal (£55m), and Ollie Watkins to Al-Hilal (£51m).
