AMMAN — Al-Faisaly SC successfully navigated the fallout from a severe injury sustained by its Ivorian professional Isa, managing to officially register new Brazilian signing Claudio Maradona who attended the team's match against Baqa'a last Sunday to complete its official squad and bolster its ranks ahead of domestic competitions and the AFC Champions League Two, according to club media spokesperson Amjad Al-Majali.

In a Facebook post, Al-Majali stated: "The club has received the international transfer certificate for Maradona, and he was registered in accordance with the Jordan Football Association's rules and regulations. As previously noted, the club has now closed its 25-player roster based on the governing instructions."
He added: "Al-Faisaly SC is a national institution whose operations are fully grounded in legal and official frameworks."
Isa sustained an ACL injury just minutes into his debut for Al-Faisaly against Al-Wehdat in the opening match of the league season a heavy blow to the team, given that the injury occurred early in the campaign shortly after signing him.
Despite the difficult timing and the official closure of the registration window on September 1, the temporary committee headed by Mohammad Hammoud Al-Hneiti handled the matter with flexibility and responsibility. The committee secured a solution that allowed Al-Faisaly to replace the player and complete its roster with a new foreign signing.
Al-Faisaly did not abandon Isa following his injury; the club stood by the player, covering the full cost of his successful surgery, as well as monitoring his health status and rehabilitation progress.
Concurrently, Isa cooperated constructively with the club, reaching a mutual agreement to terminate his contract by consent. This enabled Al-Faisaly to complete the necessary legal and administrative procedures to register a replacement player despite the passing of the registration deadline.
The club continues to oversee Isa's recovery and rehabilitation following his successful operation, wishing him a full recovery and a swift return to the pitch—a gesture highlighting that the injury did not lead to abandoning the player despite the consensual termination of the contract.
The temporary committee successfully utilized the exceptional circumstances within regulatory frameworks, allowing Al-Faisaly to sign Brazilian Claudio Maradona after his international transfer certificate arrived and he passed the required medical examinations.
Squad Completion and Tactical Options
With Maradona’s registration, Al-Faisaly completed its 25-player roster, providing additional depth to manage its upcoming commitments across the Pro League, domestic tournaments, and the AFC Champions League Two.
The signing comes at a time when Al-Faisaly has shown strong attacking intent early in the season, scoring consistently and demonstrating multiple offensive solutions.
