Al-Faisaly were crowned champions of the 2026/2027 Jordanian Super Cup for a record 18th time on Friday evening after defeating Al-Hussein Irbid 2-1 in the final at Amman International Stadium before a large crowd.
Al-Faisaly took the lead in the 18th minute when Ahmad Al-Arsan converted a penalty to give his side the advantage, with the first half ending 1-0.
Al-Hussein came back into the match in the second half, scoring the equalizer before Al-Faisaly regained the lead in the 85th minute through Anas Al-Awadat, who capitalized on a defensive error to put his team back in front.
Al-Faisaly held on during the remaining minutes to secure a 2-1 victory and add another trophy to their collection, while Al-Hussein finished the competition as runners-up.
Al-Faisaly had reached the final after defeating Al-Wehdat 2-1, while Al-Hussein advanced after a 5-0 victory over Al-Ramtha.
Al-Faisaly started the match with Abdullah Al-Fakhouri, Ihsan Haddad, Saeed Samboury, Mohammad Haddad, Anas Badawi, Nour Al-Rawadeh, Ghaith Madahneh, Fadl Haikal, Anas Al-Awadat, Ahmad Al-Arsan and Rizq Bani Hani.
Al-Hussein’s starting lineup consisted of Yazid Abu Laila, Abdullah Naseeb, Salim Obeid, Ali Hijabli, Yousef Abu Al-Jazar, Mahmoud Shawkat, Yousef Qashei, Mahmoud Dhiab, Mahmoud Al-Mardi, Aref Al-Hajj and Bryan Riaukos.
The match was officiated by referee Adham Al-Makhadmeh, assisted by Mohammad Al-Bakkar and Saberine Al-Abbadi. Lebanese referee Wael Haidar served as the fourth official, while Hamza Abu Obeid was the reserve assistant referee. Egyptians Mohammad Al-Ghazi and Ahmad Tawfiq Talib handled the Video Assistant Referee (VAR).
