AMMAN — Iraqi Adnan Hamad, head coach of the first national football team, expressed his satisfaction with the performance of the team, stressing that Al-Nashama had the upper hand in the match against Bahrain played on Tuesday. He said the team deserved the win in terms of tactical discipline and commitment from both the defense and offense.
The national team beat its Bahraini counterpart 2-1 in a friendly at Bahrain Stadium, with Hamza Al-Dardour playing in his 100th international match.
“Our goal in the friendly matches, as we have stated before, is to tackle individual and team mistakes and promote positive aspects, and we did it against Bahrain,” Hamad said.
"Despite leading the team in a total of six training sessions since I took over, we have made good progress and formed a general perception about the needs of the team in the coming period, to reach the desired goals."
The Manama camp comes as part of preparations for the FIFA 2021 Arab Cup, which will be held in Doha in early December.
