Amman — Statistics from Asian competitions show that Jordanian clubs have held the upper hand over their Omani counterparts in group-stage matches of the AFC Cup, now known as the AFC Champions League Two. The record highlights a clear advantage in both results and attacking output in encounters between representatives of Jordanian and Omani football.اضافة اعلان

Al-Hussein Irbid are preparing to host Oman’s Al-Seeb today in the second round of Group D in the AFC Champions League Two, while Al-Faisaly will welcome Al-Nahda tomorrow at Amman International Stadium in Group C.

Across 27 matches between the two sides, Jordanian clubs have recorded 14 wins, six draws and seven defeats. The figures underline their ability to compete directly with Omani opponents and secure positive results in key encounters throughout their continental campaigns.

Jordan’s advantage extends beyond the number of victories to attacking performance. Jordanian clubs have scored 46 goals against Omani teams while conceding 25, giving them a goal difference of 21. This reflects their overall scoring advantage across the meetings.

However, the record has also included difficult results for Jordanian clubs, which have lost seven matches, while six encounters ended in draws. The figures show that their numerical advantage has not been absolute, with Omani clubs also securing positive results on several occasions. Nevertheless, the overall record remains in Jordan’s favor.

The challenge now is for Jordanian clubs to strengthen that advantage through Al-Hussein Irbid and Al-Faisaly in their upcoming matches. Both sides will be seeking to improve their positions in the continental competition and maintain their hopes of reaching the next round. Al-Hussein drew 2–2 with India’s East Bengal in the opening round, while Al-Faisaly lost 4–3 to Qatar’s Al-Rayyan.

Jordanian clubs have won more than half of their 27 encounters against Omani sides, recording a victory rate of approximately 52%. Draws account for around 22% of the matches, while Jordanian clubs lost approximately 26%.

These figures give Jordanian football a clear advantage in the head-to-head record, while also highlighting the need for local clubs to build on their results, strengthen their continental presence and demonstrate their ability to compete beyond Jordan’s borders.

Jordanian clubs have also outperformed their Omani counterparts in terms of continental titles. Al-Faisaly won the AFC Cup twice, in 2005 and 2006, while Shabab Al-Ordon claimed the title in 2007. Omani clubs, meanwhile, have won the competition once, with Al-Seeb lifting the trophy in 2022.
